Intro to COMSOL Multiphysics

The first half of the workshop provides an overview of COMSOL Multiphysics version 4.3a: its capabilities, new features, enhanced functionality, and revamped graphical user interface. This workshop is designed for both non-user and new users of COMSOL.

We will examine the new, model-builder-based interface which, in addition to heightened efficiency, provides new functionality to modify and quickly adapt models. A 3-physics coupled example will be shown exemplifying both the speed and ease of the new work flow.

HANDS-ON-TUTORIAL

The second half of the workshop is a hands-on tutorial in COMSOL Multiphysics Version 4.3a. It is directed at both new users and existing users who would like to experience with the new interface. We will set up and solve a simple multiphysics problem designed to make participants quickly proficient in COMSOL Multiphysics Version 4.3 using a model example on: Electrical Heating in A Busbar.

In Addition, participants will be provided with A Comsol Free Trial as they attend the workshop

Come and experience the power and efficiency of COMSOL Multiphysics Version 4.3a!

SPEAKER
Dr. Cathy Sun
Application Engineer, i-Math Pte Ltd

Dr. Cathy Sun is an Application Engineer with I-Math Pte Ltd, primarily focus on COMSOL. In the course of her work, Cathy has help engineering R&D professionals adopt COMSOL as a platform for modeling, optimization and simulation in the area of finite element and Multiphysics. This includes many of Singapore’s renowned research institutes, MNCs and academia. Some of her major customers include: Institute of Microelectronics (IME), Institute of High Performance Computing (iHPC), Data Storage Institute (DSI), Institute of Material Research Engineering (IMRE), REC Wafer, Sony, Avago, NTU and NUS. Prior to this, Cathy has a stint in Beijing Dahua Electronics as an Electronics Engineer.

Dr. Cathy Sun received her Bachelor of Electronics Science and Technology from Beijing University of Chemical Technology and the Master of Condensed Matter Physics from the Institute of Physics Chinese Academy of Science and Beijing University of Chemical Technology. She also has a PhD in Physics from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Her research interest focuses on the studies and research of the eigenvibrations of nanoparticles and simulation using finite element method.
