HeatFlow Experiment
Challenge:
Demonstrate simple first order model control concepts by tasking your engineering students with the challenge of designing a simple PI control system to manage temperature at select points in a duct using heating elements and a blower.
Description:
The HFE system includes: Built in power module, analog signals for fan speed and power; an onboard tachometer to design speed control; fast settling platinum temperature transducers (3 sensors along the duct) to measure the temperature. A great system for studying simply dynamics, the HFE prepares students for developing more complex controllers.
