Streamlining the multiphysics Simulation process

COMSOL Multiphysics version 4 delivers the COMSOL Desktop, an all-new user inter-
face that sets up a workflow for maximum productivity. Building a modeling
naturally follows along the lines of your thinking from concept to realization. You
must right-click to add more features and perform common tasks like importing CAD,
meshing, specifying material properties, solving and visualizing results.  This
progressive disclosure puts what you need at your finger tip, just when you need it.

A Small Company Solves Global Problem
Ultrasound is the area of science involving sound waves in the range from 20 kHz to
10 MHz. Ultra Sonus has developed an ultrasound technology that involves "loud
speakers" transmitting sound waves through liquids, which contain gas bubbles.
The waves make the bubbles grow and then collapse releasing energy equivalent to
10.000°C and a pressure of 500 bar.  Read More..

Electromagnetics: "Modeling Metamaterials Leads to Major Breakthrough"
Modeling software is generally used to make the invisible visible—to show the fields
and flows in a product or process that are impossible to see with the eye or
instruments. A group at Duke University, however, has done just the opposite: With
the help of COMSOL Multiphysics, we ran simulations that showed it should be
possible to fabricate the metamaterials necessary to make objects invisible
