This 2-day course will cover most of the structural analysis capabilities in COMSOL Multiphysics, with the use of Structural Mechanics Module, Nonlinear Structural Materials Module and Fatigue Module

Conducted with a combination of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on exercises, we will start with a comprehensive understanding of COMSOL’s Structural Mechanics Module, including the physics interfaces available, modelling for linear elastic structures, instability analysis and multiphysics capabilities. Next, we will delve into nonlinear structural mechanics to address topics such as geometric nonlinearity for modeling large deformation and rotation, nonlinear material behavior, and analysis of contact and friction between surfaces. Since one of the most common cause for structural failure is from fatigue, we will also discuss the types of fatigue analysis you can perform.

A certificate will be given after you have completing the training course.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is intended for engineers or researchers who are involved in linear and nonlinear structural analysis. It is suitable for new users of COMSOL’s Structural Mechanics Module, Nonlinear Structural Materials Module and Fatigue Module.

PRE-REQUISITES

This course assumes a mechanical engineering background and familiarity with the concepts of structural mechanics. We strongly recommend that those new to COMSOL Multiphysics take 2-Day COMSOL Multiphysics Intensive Training course prior to attending this class.
