Our FREE hands-on workshops will be coming to University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus on 1 August 2017 (Friday). Our workshops provide educators and those involved in research with a valuable opportunity to learn more about COMSOL Multiphysics and its many applications. With a brief introduction and live demonstration, these workshops are designed to cover the fundamentals of modelling simulations in COMSOL Multiphysics. The hands-on portion of the workshop allows attendees to test drive the software by building a model from scratch, allowing each person to leave with the ability to experiment with their own simulations in COMSOL Multiphysics.

These workshops are for the lecturers, researchers and students of University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus only.

You can select to register for either ONE or BOTH of the workshops below.

This session provides a general introduction to the key features and capabilities of COMSOL Multiphysics Version 5.3, its range of modules and applications in various engineering fields. You will learn about all the main aspects of using COMSOL, including the fundamentals of multiphysics modeling, so as to help you be confident with using the software to solve simulation problems.

Key contents include:

  • Introduction to physics based modules (electrical, mechanical, fluid flow, chemical)
  • Multiphysics approaches
  • Coupling of different physics
  • Simulation workflow
    • Set up the model environment
    • Create geometrical objects
    • Specify material properties
    • Define physics boundary conditions
    • Create the mesh
    • Run the simulation
    • Postprocess the results
  • Hands-on exercises

Who Should Attend
This workshop is suitable for those who are interested in multphysics modelling, even for those with little or no experience using COMSOL Multiphysics.

Note:

  • These workshops will require you to bring your own laptop. Note that COMSOL version 5.3 requires a 64-bit Operating System to run. Please visit System Requirements to see the minimum configuration COMSOL requires for installation.
  • Participants will be provided with a FREE 2-week COMSOL product evaluation license after they attend the workshop(s).
